The Catalan painter, sculptor and graphic artist Joan Miro i Ferra began to paint in the style of folk art of his home Barcelona but later on developed his style through Cubism, Dadaism, Fauvism and Surrealism; from the representational to the abstract. His works, which established his world fame and have made him one of the most popular and liked artists of modernity, are characterised through a cheerful, colourful, quirky style full of ideas. His fantastic picture-world fascinates people across generations and social classes. In addition to paintings, Miro also created sculptures, ceramic and graphic works.
