Günther Ücker features amongst the most important international painters and object artists of German post-war art. His world fame is due to three-dimensional nail-paintings, the optic impression of which change depending on the lighting. Parts of his art, which fascinate through the interplay of light, dynamics and space, are associated to kinetic art. As a member of ZERO, a group of artists founded by Heinz Mack and Otto Piene, he received his first award at the 4th San Marino Biennale. 1977 he created a mural relief for the UNO buildings in Geneva. He has exhibited in New York, Chicago, Moscow, China, Seoul and Uzbekistan, amongst others.
